Advanced Materials Analysis

Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) is a group of powerful, non-destructive techniques used to determine the composition, structure, and thickness of materials with high precision. It involves directing a focused or broad beam of energetic ions, typically in the MeV energy range, onto a target and analysing the interactions between the incident ions and the atoms in the material. From the resulting scattered particles, emitted radiation, or nuclear reaction products, researchers can extract detailed information about the elemental makeup and depth profiles of the sample.
